Hi,

I'm a long time linux user, but noob to openvpn. I installed a pre-packed client version of ovpn from an online vpn access provider, so I have not configured it from the "ground up", but I do see the config file, etc, which look fairly bare essentials.

Before installing ovpn, this machine was running an SSHD service that ran fine.

Now, whenever the ovpn CLIENT is running:

 * I can still ssh to the server from inside, i.e., LAN access is ok
 * I can no longer connect from outside, i.e., WAN service dead

No changes other than the (PIA) vpn client installation were made that I'm aware of.

Am I right that I *should* be able to run an ssh daemon on a machine with an openvpn client running?

Some config details:

 * Linux - Ubuntu 12.04 (headless)
 * netstat shows sshd (port 22) bound to 0.0.0.0
 * firewall has NAT forwarding of incoming port 22 pointed to this host
   (has always worked fine)
 * i had a dyndns client that updated hostname to point to other end of
   vpn tunnel, but problem persists when using WAN IP address of
   firewall (i.e., I don't think its a DNS problem)

I have searched the mailing list archives, google, etc., but haven't found anything relevant.

Thanks in advance,

MikeM
