This looks fishy.  It's fairly typical to see fe80:: addresses show up
there, but *this* is not a valid whatever-address.

I'd guess that the compression settings are not matching.  Try turning
*on* comp-lzo everywhere.

(Note that "no comp-lzo" is different from "comp-lzo off" in 2.2 and 2.3)
