Hi, I'd like to organize an IRC session where we'd discuss the design of the forthcoming community site. I'd love if as many of you could participate and share your ideas and viewpoints. Otherwise well probably mess something up real bad :). I suggest next Monday at 19:00 UTC (21:00-22:00 EEST, 11AM PST, 2PM EST). I think one hour should suffice. Let me know privately if you wish to attend. Or if you'd like to, but can't.
I'm thinking of a loose agenda like this: - Gather as many requirements as possible (what the site must/should/could do) - Select a potential list of applications to use (e.g. wiki, forums) for further analysis I've already gathered some requirements here: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=4B3CB244.2080305%40openvpn.net&forum_name=openvpn-devel I think a simple Wiki-based site with other integrated components _might_ be the least bad solution. Something along these lines: http://en.opensuse.org/Welcome_to_openSUSE.org Initially we wanted to have hosting for OpenVPN-related projects. For this reason I looked at s.c. "Forge" applications (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forge_%28software%29), but they seem too focused on hosting separate projects, rather than building a common (cross-project) collaborative environment. So they're not a good overall solutions. At first it may be best to just "publish" OpenVPN-related projects along these lines: http://exchange.nagios.org/ In any case the site will end up being a complex jigsaw puzzle.
