OpenVPN has several separate components, each can be released
separately:


It would be much easier if every component has its own version and
dependency.

This makes sense to me.

I'm putting in a vote for releasing as-is (ish) and not making
any major changes until the next release.  I've put a lot of time
into working with rc15 in the expectation that there won't be much
in the way of changes for the final 2.1 release.  It seems
reasonable to expect major changes on release boundaries.
Violating that expectation would, at minimum, keep me away
from rc releases.
