Your problem has nothing to do with OpenVPN. Please make your card work with any other program, take Mozilla Firefox for example. You can post questions in OpenSC mailing list, maybe you get some help. Also, if you don't specify which card you are working with, and don't provide any logs, I don't believe someone will help you.
