I thought this was resolved, but it's not. I'm able to enter the following
command successfully:
Openvasmd --max-email-attachment-size=20000000
But I still receive the error message that the attachment size is too large.
The report is only around 350 KB when I download it onto my machine. I just
re-read the error message, and it doesn't state the report SIZE is too long but
that it contains TOO MANY CHARACTERS.
I've done a Google search, and I get very few hits with this. I've looked at
this way to much lately, and I'm not sure what to do next. Does anyone have an
idea? Thanks

I'm not able to get this change to work. Do I need to reload anything after
making the change? I've typed it in and restarted the system, but I still get
the same error message. I'm not getting many hits on Google about this either.

Have a look at the following two parameters of the openvasmd:
--max-email-attachment-size=<number> Maximum size of alert email
attachments, in bytes.
--max-email-include-size=<number> Maximum size of inlined
content in alert emails, in bytes.

I have 3 jobs that are running. Two have a single IP, and one has about 3 dozen
IPs. For the single IP addresses, the report is attached to the email, but for
the job that has several IPs, I do get the email but no attachment. The
following is in the email for the multiple IP alert:
This email escalation is configured to attach report format 'HTML'.
Full details and other report formats are available on the scan engine.
Note: This report exceeds the maximum length of 1048576 characters and thus was
truncated.
I presume I need to break this into multiple jobs with fewer IP addresses?
