For anyone else interested, I believe we found a workaround for this.  Applying 
overrides in alert results appears to be tied to individual user settings now.  
To get this to work we had to go to Extras -> My Settings -> Results Filter -> 
and select an existing 'Results Filter' that has 'apply_overrides=1'
