there is a "scanner_plugins_timeout" within the Scanners Preferences of
your Scan Config allowing to raise the timeout.

Please note:

There is currently a bug in the GSA shipped with OpenVAS 8 which already
got fixed but not released yet. You will see a "SCANNER_NVT_TIMEOUT"
instead of the default value of "36000" in there. This issue just
affects the display of the value, not the functionality itself. To
change this timeout you can set a value like 36000 (in seconds) or
higher to your needs.
