I have an openvas server with a script to download the NVT database and update it everyday. It is based on this: http://www.openvas.org/compendium/automatically-updating-an-nvt-feed.html. I have simplified the commands here:
/usr/sbin/openvas-nvt-sync kill -1 $(pgrep openvassd) Openvasmd —update Opevnasmd I have been scanning the same IP address daily for weeks and I have been receiving the same results. Two days ago I got a scan report with information about an old version of PHP. It looked correct. The scan ran again at the same time, 24 hours later (March 16th) and those PHP results were not included. Is there an issue with downloading the database daily? Is there a better way to apply updates? Any help would be appreciated
