Which list you choose depends on the ports you are using! If you only want to scan specific ports, create a new portlist. If you are only interested in TCP Ports and have enough time for scans, choose all TCP ports. The nmap portscan takes longer but you can be sure that you get all opened ports.
The more Ports you scan, the more vulnerabilitys you can find, but also false positives! (UDP port scans takes a lot more time) Rene > Am 18.12.2015 um 11:28 schrieb Henrik Cederlöf <[email protected]>: > > When setting up a new scan target I have to select a port list and it ranges > from > all iana assigned TCP 2012-02-10 to OpenVAS default. > Is there a way to tell what I should choose here ? > What would be a good enough default value to start with? > I have tried both against the same host and it gave me the same > vulnerabilities but maybe one could potentially detect more. > //henrik > _______________________________________________ > Openvas-discuss mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.wald.intevation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openvas-discuss _______________________________________________ Openvas-discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.wald.intevation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openvas-discuss
