It's probably a bug in a glance client, with v2 API it reports error correctly: glance --os-image-api-version=2 image-update ed56772d-67f4-4d7e- a10f-88d66e242642 --min-ram 128 --file new-image Request returned failure status. 403 Forbidden Attribute 'file' is read-only.
