Hey Y'all,
I'm a bit new to OpenStack, and I'm going through all the Keystone
setup items listed here, for RedHat:
http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/install-guide/install/yum/content/keystone-install.html
And when I get to the point of actually starting the keystone service
it kind of doesn't work:
# /etc/init.d/openstack-keystone start
Starting keystone: [ OK ]
<...wait about 10 seconds...>
Aborting wait for keystone to start
Even though it says "OK", something is wrong. I see something running:
]# ps -afe | grep keystone
keystone 16292 1 0 14:26 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/python
/usr/bin/keystone-all --config-file
/usr/share/keystone/keystone-dist.conf --config-file
/etc/keystone/keystone.conf
root 16716 6286 0 14:27 pts/0 00:00:00 grep keystone
I see it listening:
# lsof -Pi | grep keystone
keystone- 16292 keystone 4u IPv4 240300 0t0 TCP
server-private.edu:35357 (LISTEN)
keystone- 16292 keystone 6u IPv4 240302 0t0 TCP
server-public.edu:5000 (LISTEN)
But a "keystone discover" returns nothing:
# keystone discover
No handlers could be found for logger "keystoneclient.generic.client"
No Keystone-compatible endpoint found
Any idea where I went wrong? I tried to follow those instructions
exactly, I've confirmed my MySQL DB is set up correctly and can be
accessed OK.... Any hint would be much appreciated!!
Hint:
curl http://localhost:5000
curl http://localhost:35357
Also...you need a userid and password, usually set an env vars and
written to a file named keystonerc
cheers,
erich
