I was using Ubuntu 12.04 and also encounter this issue, seems we already have a bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/horizon/+bug/1125622 tracing this.
@Matthias, which version of python-six shall I upgrade to? Did you encounter this issue and finally fixed by upgrade python-six?
