We have a very similar situation in networking-infoblox to what Neil was saying about Calico. In our case, we needed the framework for pluggable IPAM to produce our driver. We are now targeting Liberty, but based on the above our plan is: 1) Release 1.0 from master (soon) 2) Create stable/liberty based on 1.0 3) Continue to add features in master, but *maintain compatibility with stable/liberty*. It is important that our next version works with stable/liberty, not just master/Mitaka.
