Hi Lisa,

You can start looking at bugs with the low-hanging-fruit[1] tag as they are 
meant to be relatively easy bugs to help new contributors get used to the 
contribution workflow for OpenStack projects.

You might also want to review the how to contribute[2] page for tips on setting 
up your environment and IDs.  

Once you have done a few of these... you can find projects of interest and 
start attending their IRC meetings to identify future contributions that align 
with your interests.
