Just as a brief follow-up here, I finished the VLAN provider network support for OVN here: https://github.com/openvswitch/ovs/commit/779e72cc57a106251cc9e6696e8c9aabb56d30b5 I also wrote an OVN tutorial this week. Examples 4 and 5 cover how provider networks are modeled in OVN. https://github.com/openvswitch/ovs/blob/master/tutorial/OVN-Tutorial.md I have the Neutron API patch posted here: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/228573/ I did the patch before I finished the VLAN support.
