That's a good point. We should give it a try, though. I don't think pip's constraints resolver takes version specifiers into account, so we should get the older sphinx and the newer theme. If those do happen to work together, it should be OK. If not, we need another solution. We may have to do more work to backport the theme change into an older version of the library to make it work in the old branches.
