I am maintaining a PKI-enabled website (Apache 2.4.6/ OpenSSL 1.0.1e). When I
open a new browser (IE9 on Win7) and navigate to it, no problems. I select my
certificate and enter my PIN and everything is fine.

My issue is that if I am at another PKI-enabled site and then I go to my site,
I select my certificate again, and the page loads. Here is the weird part: If I
either go to another page on my site or refresh the current one, it dies with
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

In troubleshooting, I've noticed a couple of things:

1) I don't see any errors in my Apache log.

2) If I pull out and insert my smartcard when I'm transitioning from the
first site to my site, I not only have to select my certificate but enter my
PIN as well. My site then opens and works fine.

3) If I add my site to the credentials manager in Win 7, I can navigate
from one PKI site to my PKI site and have it function normally.

Any ideas on why the site dies when the user is coming from another PKI-enabled
site?

Thank you for any help.
