Hey guys,

I've tried openssl s_client -connect <host>:<port> -starttls smtp
- -crlf and I always get 8564:error:140770FC:SSL
routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol:s23_clnt.c:475:

    I have tried with smtp.gmail.com:587 and smtp.googlemail.com:587
as well as with an outbound smarthost and I still encounter this
issue. In the first scenarios I've tried without -crlf, then with, and
the result is the same.

I have read on the internet and also on this mailinglist that the
problems may reside in:
    1. expired SSL certificate - fail (I still get the error with
current ssl certificate which expires next year - self signed)
    2. invalid permissions on the certificate - fail (it has correct
permissions)
    3. the port on which you connect is invalid - fail, both 25 port
as well as 587 do present STARTTLS with EHLO when connecting in plain
without trying to establish an SSL tunnel

I am pretty much out of solutions here. If I try from my machine
everything is fine and I am presented with the handshake just fine but
I always get that specific error from that machine.

RPM Package on the "broken" machine: openssl-0.9.7a

Please let me know what solution(s) can be applied here (if there
is/are any).

Thanks!
