Hello. When using the Win32 OpenSSL v1.0.1c 16Mb Installer from here

the very end of the installation to Copy OpenSSL DLLs to either the Windows
system directory or the OpenSSL binaries (c:/OpenSSL/bin) directory. Is
there any reason I cannot put it in both places by running the installation
twice and choosing the option differently on each run? Any reason I should
not do so? In this case my OS is Windows XP Pro, but I am intending to
install it in the very same way on Windows 2008 Server.Thanks.

The system directory is the recommended method. That way the DLLs are available to all applications.

You can install it twice if you want. I don't see any problem with doing that other than it drops the DLLs in multiple places on the computer. In general, you only want one set of DLLs so you can upgrade the software as new versions become available.
