Ah, that explains that -
"Provisionals" aren't listed in the applications database.

Due to some twisted government agency word-smiting,
"Provisional Applications" are not "Applications" for the
purpose of being listed in the database.

Sort-of makes sense though, since a Provisional Application
is not a "complete" application, more like an "intent to apply".
(Your attorneys probably would not like that summary of mine.)

I __am not__ a member of the development team, only a end-user.

But as an end-user I can see that OpenSSL does include patent
encumbered code.  The inclusion of such is a project decision.

But as an end-user:
It would just be nice to read what the details of the claims
will be and what sort of restrictions they may imply.
Which was why I was looking for the patent application.

I guess I can wait until your law firm cranks out the paperwork.
