Hi,

I know a number of Sun/Oracle people read this list & I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the Solaris PKCS#11 patch for OpenSSL? It doesn't look like it is being maintained anymore.

Looking at the old OpenSolaris crypto discussion forum, it looks like there was (is?) a move to provide an engine for OpenSSL that would use the Solaris crypto hardware libraries instead of the PKCS#11 patch. Is this true? I noticed that someone is updating the source code on the OpenSolaris site for the what appears to be the devcrypto engine. (Everything under /sfwnv/usr/src/lib/openssl has a date of March 1, 2011.)

I used the older patch for openssl 0.9.8k, but I'd like to move on to the 1.0 builds. A number of people last year posted in Jan Pechanec's blog that they were having problems using the patch & I abandoned my efforts to work on it.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
