Hi,

After successfully generating a self signed CA and a CSR for issuing a
certificate, when I use the below command to sign the corresponding
certificate,I get the following error on win2k3 box. My openssl version is
1.0.0c:

Before signing, the index.txt is empty and serial file contains the entry "01".

E:\nic\csd\config\RECEIVER\244APP137\ca-store>openssl.exe ca -policy
policy_anything -notext -out certs/vlctestcert.pem -infiles
certs/vlctest_req.pem

Using configuration from E:\nic\csd\config\security\openssl.cfg

Enter pass phrase for
E:\nic\csd\config\receiver\244APP137\ca-store\private\privkey.pem:default is an
unsupported message digest type
3592:error:02001002:system library:fopen:No such file or
directory:bss_file.c:126:fopen('E:\nic\csd\config\receiver\244APP137\ca-store\index.txt.attr','rb')
3592:error:2006D080:BIO routines:BIO_new_file:no such file:bss_file.c:129:
3592:error:0E078072:configuration file routines:DEF_LOAD:no such
file:conf_def.c:197:

My openssl config file is attached. Also I have used the ENVVAR "OPENSSL_CNF"
to have the openssl config in a different location.

Can anybody throw some light on this please.

Thanks
Janardan
