In google search "Network security with OpenSSL"

At the books google link there is a book about OpenSSL, see Chapter 4, and
points 4.1.1 or 4.2.1

Not sure about links on the Internet, but

'man openssl_threads' should give you a manual page that lists all
functions used for setting up locking callbacks.

Also, O'Reilly "Network Security with OpenSSL" has a chapter on setting
up locking callbacks. Maybe try Google books and you might be able to
view that chapter.

Unfortunately, nobody has answered the first part of my question on
this list, so I'm just as confused as you are about the best way to use
OpenSSL with threads.
