shoot. that's it. forget my 'cannot reproduce, search elsewhere'
garbage from this morning.
(In fact, you're feeding it 9 defined bytes of key while it needs 16,
because you treat it all as strings instead of binary data - which is
bad form anyway, but I was thinking 8 bytes instead of 16. Stupid.)
