Too many replies, many of them confusing so just going to add my 2c

I had a similar issue to this. The resolution was to locate this line in my 
openssl.cnf file:

RANDFILE               = $ENV::HOME/.rnd

Then ensure you are the owner of that file / you can write to that location or 
just make it somewhere you can write to.

This fixed that message for me, so good luck with whatever others said and I 
hope this info isn't too stale already. I just stumbled on this thread looking 
for the answer to the same question.
