Thanks for the tips. I thought this seemed strange, but it was the only culprit I could produce. I had previously tried reinstalling the binaries and had no success. I decided to try again because I think it was the "light" installed I tried the second time. I did the full install and it seems to be working again. Thanks for your help.
Okay, now THAT is weird. The _ONLY_ difference between the Light and Full versions is the inclusion of the test .exe's and software development tools (.lib and include .h files). As a _user_ of OpenSSL, Light should be more than sufficient AND it shouldn't affect Internet Explorer in the least bit. There is something seriously wrong with your computer (maybe an overzealous anti-virus program interfering with the install?).
I can only guess because you really haven't given me anything to actually go off of. The fact that one version of the installer works and the other does not says it is something else on your computer causing the problem. It would be in your best interest to figure out what that something is before other problems happen. Not a matter of 'if', but 'when'. When you find out, let me know because I would also like to know what caused the problem in the first place.
