Apologies if this is well-known question - but in the UK it's a legal 
requirement to
disclose encryption keys if obliged to do so by the police. PGP makes this 
relatively
easy even in the case of single messages so you can reveal the one-time session 
key
and not your secret key.

Does anyone know of tools to do this for S/MIME?

I have hacked the source of the smime bit of openssl to find the session key, 
so 
I know it can be done, but have I missed something that is already implemented 
or
should I finish the job by myself?
