I never compiled mixmaster but as far as i know once you opened the mixmaster.tar.gz , when you launch the .Install script it will ask you if you have openssl , even if you have it say "NO" anyway it will provide you of an another openssl pack that will be installed where mixmaster needs want it to be , or , download openssl from openssl.org and compile it , but even better follow these instructions , they are in italian http://www.autistici.org/it/stuff/network_howto/anonymous_remailer/mixmaster-2.html but foundamentals are quite understandble ... sorry .
