OK, I think I finally got it. You are using the set of binaries published on the stunnel websites and some scripts from SecurityFocus (I missed the bottom lines on the first mail...).The unique_subject only occurs once in the file. I moved the statement:unique_subject = no to the [ ca] section. Same error :-( I still see the following in the output: **** DEBUG[load_index]: unique_subject = "yes" ***[...]
The binaries on stunnel are quite venerable (OpenSSL 0.9.7f 22 Mar 2005) and I can reproduce your error using those binaries.
If I replace them with current 0.9.8g binaries the error is gone.If you have no other source, you may download the ones I did compile from https://secure.convey.de/publish/openssl-0.9.8g-win32.zip. Of course I don't give any guarantees! ;)
Hope it helps. Ted ;)P.S.: If you have trouble with software you downloaded from SecurityFocus or stunnel you should consider asking them for help before asking here...
