Hello,

I wasn't able to get a PKCS #7 file using the dgst and
rsautl command.
So now I'm trying with the smime command. However, I´m
doing something wrong since I get "Error reading
S/MIME message" because the file I want to sign is not
in SMIME format (I suppose).
Is there any way use the smime command to sign any
type of file?
The command I´m using is:

openssl smime -sign -pk7out -in 1.xml -outform DER
-signer britanico1.cer -inkey britanico1.pem -out
1.xml.cms

Thanks in advance,

Antonio Robirosa.
