OpenSSL-fips v1.1.1 is FIPS 140-2 validated, certificate number 733 (see
http://www.csrc.nist.gov/cryptval/140-1/1401val2007.htm#733 for info).
There are important caveats to this validation, and I recommend you read the
Security Policy and Administrator's Guides to understand them.

Also, please be aware that the fips-1.1.1 code does NOT work with MacOSX.
