Im in the unfortunate position of programming an interface to Active 
directory. I need to generate an cert request on a windows 2000 advanced 
server which can be signed by our root cert. How is this done?

I have used the window certificates snap in but it tries to automaticaly 
sign it itself - i dont want this.

Is there another way?
