I'm writing a small GUI app that builds an x509 cert. request and simply shells out to the command line in order to actually build the req. I've noticed that when I specify the subject on the command line (-subj), both the distinguished name and attributes sections in the configuration file are ignored (as I expected). What I did not expect is that there seems to be no way to specify attributes in this manner. Is this true or am I missing something? Specifically, I would like to be able to add the challengePassword attribute via the command line.
