'./config -d'. resulted me in
Operating system: 9000/800-hp-hpux10
This system (debug-hpux-parisc-gcc) is not supported. See file INSTALL for details.

So I used ./Configure.
And I got the answer from the Configure file saying
-<XXX>/+<XXX> for compiler options
 
We can use what ever compiler options ( say -g )  along with ./Configure -g ........

Try './config -d'.  If there's a debug target for your platform, it
will be chosen.
