The OpenSSL tarballs (at least those you get from
ftp://ftp.openssl.org/ and mirrors) are source only, so basically, you
unpack it anywhere you want, then you build according to the file
called INSTALL.  If you install all the way without changing the
defaults, the installed files will end up under /usr/local/ssl.
