I am with Jostein Tveit. If you don't know about SSL then you must have to learn it.
Do one thing search about SSL & TSL on net and start to learn it.
And after going to OpenSSL.
Second as there are two way of all invention.
OpenSSL is also just like it.
If your sir is trying do somthing iliggle then as inidan friend I am not with you. But if you are going to do something security purpose i am definately help you.
So be trust and be sure with me.
And again I told you learn about SSL first and beware from cyber crime.

If you have basic knowledge of TCP/IP, I would advice you to buy the book "SSL and TLS" by Eric Rescorla to learn the SSL/TLS protocol.
If you have basic knowledge of the program language C and the SSL/TLS protocol, and have to learn how to program with OpenSSL, I would advice you to buy the book "Network Security with OpenSSL" by John Viega et al.
