I've been playing with building software on our test Solaris 9 machine
using GCC 3.3.2. Recently I ran across a problem with Open SSL 0.9.7c
- I was able to build it as 64 bit, but make test failed with the
following error:

error calculating RIPEMD160 on '' got c12836ad0d061da6ccde02fb0b5be87f0c62a4a5 instead of 9c1185a5c5e9fc54612808977ee8f548b2258d31 error calculating RIPEMD160 on 'a' got 9aa1049aec0363ac0a5895c44bb2fa79a49a20aa instead of 0bdc9d2d256b3ee9daae347be6f4dc835a467ffe error calculating RIPEMD160 on 'abc' ...and several more lines with similiar bad news.

Anyone know of a fix/? I can built without RIPEMD160 but
Open SSH wants it.

Building it as 32-bit worked fine - but this is supposed to be a
learning experience. I found someone that posted the same issue
against *OpenSSL* 0.9.7b but did not see any follow up to the question
and no response from the original poster.

Thanks in advance
