Users,
I need some advice.
I am running Mandrake 9.1 with 98 mb
RAM.
I recently downloaded and installed the RPMs
for
glibc 3.2.2 and openssl 0.9.7a.
My objective is to first make the MySQL database
server
as secure as it can be and installing openssl is my
first step.
In order to do this, I have chosen to follow the
mysql website's instructions at www.mysql.com/doc/en/Secure_requirements.html
I am currently stuck on step two where it says to
"Configure MySQL with
--with-vio --with-openssl . "Now, as I said I have not done any command line script execution so this is
a little tricky for me.
I have attempted to execute the command
"./configure --with-vio --with-openssl" from many
different
command prompts and the result has been
unsuccessful.
I did some checking and there is an executable
file named
"binary-configure" in the /usr/share/mysql
directory on my system.
I also don't see a "configure" script when I look
for one. Is this possible?
Any help apreciated.
