Is that a 64-bit environment?  It may be that there still are problems
with that.  It may also be that there are problems with the
configuration, so if you could show us the result of that, we'd
appreciate it.  The easiest way to find out how it was configured is
to show us the result of the following command, done at the top of the
OpenSSL directory tree:

grep '^CONFIGURE_ARGS' Makefile

If necessary, is it possible for you to lend me an account on that
systems, so I can debug it myself?
