OK, here's a slightly longer version of the answer. Openssl-0.9.6g and
openssl-engine-0.9.6g are identical with one exception:
openssl-engine-0.9.6g contains engine code to support several vendors'
hardware accelerator cards, and openssl-0.9.6g doesn't. In openssl-0.9.7
(currently in the beta release phase), this engine code will be part of the
general distribution. Hardware accelerators supported by
openssl-engine-0.9.6g include CryptoSwift, nCipher, Atalla, and several
others.

Yes, and yes.

Does openssl-engine-0.9.6g include everything in
openssl-0.9.6g?

And if I want to include support for cryptographic
hardware acclerators in my SSL enabled application, do
I need to use openssl-engine-0.9.6g instead of
openssl-0.9.6g?

Thanks,
Ed
