You can do it from the openssl command line (check the man req pages) or look into OpenCA (www.openca.org) - John

Subject: CAs and such
Is there a step-by-step document out there that outlines how to use the
openssl command to do the following:
1. create a CA cert
2. create a server cert signed by 1
My goal is to create a "root" CA for my company. I then want to create
server certificates that are signed by the root CA. Since the
application I'm writing won't interact with Web servers, browsers, etc.,
I don't need a third party like Verisign to sign my server certs.
Thanks,
-Kevin
