Hi all! We have a Windows 9x/NT 4.x/2000/XP SSLv3 client application, which is using openssl-0.9.6b. It works fine.
The application needs to be extended to support client authentication with certificates and private keys stored on different vendors' smartcards. All the smartcards have pkcs#11 libraries although. I have the following question: If I get it straight from the documentation, I should write an engine module for all the different pkcs11 devices (ActiveCard, Schlumberger, etc...).This is not an option. Are there any other way to support client authentication in a more general way? Calling the pkcs#11 functions from the application directly is no problem, if that helps.
