Title: RE: Weakness in Openssl PRNGI have ported it to Vxworks 5.3. I have just ported the "ssl"and "crypto" directories. The changes required were veryminimal. Few changes in "e_os.h" and in the bio directory(mainly in "b_sock.c" and "bss_bio.c", since Vxworks don'tsupport calls like "getservbyname" and "gethostbyname"). Allthe other changes I have made are very specific to our system.I'll try to submit these changes to OpenSsl.Note: Does anyone know that OpenSsl PRNG is FIPS 140-1 complaint.[looks like it is since it is making use of SHA1]. Any idea ?Regards,Prashant.-----Original Message-----

Can those patches be made available for OpenSSL users? Any what version of VxWorks have you ported OpenSSL to (5.4)?

Jeffrey,
Since Vxworks is almost similar to Unix, porting
it was simple. The patches I made are very specific
to our system. So, I assume, contributing these patches
to OpenSsl won't be a good idea.Regards,

I'm sure that the VxWorks port will be very similar to the work that
needs to be done for PalmOS.In that case porting the crypto/rand directory should be fine.
But check the announcement, it has details of what needs to be changed
if you are doing a partial port.> Another question I had Is openssl PRNG ANSI X9.17
