what's your environment? Win32? any UNIX flavor? ...


Meanwhile, check your setup and see if you're pointing the 'OPENSSL_CONF'
environment variable to the openssl.cnf path of your choice.

If you don't have that env.var. you need to check the OPENSSL_CONF value in
your 'e_os.h' header file + the OPENSSLDIR value in 'opensslconf.h' and see
where you went wrong during configuring OpenSSL before you compiled the
sources.
