AFAIK there is no "oficial way" for adding TLS to FTP.

it is, provided you include the attribution ("This contains SW...")
both to Eric Young and OpenSSL.

No, you havn't. But, with a look at your suse background, you
should make shure your once imported code never gets reexported
again.
