Bug ID: 3929
Summary: Reset tty after disconnect
Product: Portable OpenSSH
Version: 10.2p1
Hardware: Other
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P5
Component: ssh
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
When using fancy TUI tool over ssh, they often re-configure the
terminal, e.g. enabling mouse support, or turning echo off. If such a
connection gets disconnected ungraceful, the terminal stays configured
as such (e.g. moving the mouse now floods the terminal with junk).
It would be desirable in these situations if ssh would, before exiting,
reset the terminal to the state it was before (like the `reset` tool,
or better like `stty sane` which does not clear the terminal).
