Description

When you open the places floater for the first time after logging in it freezes
the viewer for a period of time. That period seems to be related to the size of
one's inventory and the number of landmarks in it.
This addresses bug STORM-1926.

Testing
-------
tested in the latest beta version of my own TPV, works as expected, with a
beneficial side effect: the favorites bar gets populated right after login even
after clearing cache.
