Anyone who has ever had a stalker (and I unfortunately have, so I can
speak with some authority on the subject) will appreciate why it's
important not to disclose your real name and address in public.

Where it comes to trust, Henri has a point here - do you have the
address of every single developer who worked on every piece of
software you use on a daily basis? I certainly don't, I don't even
have their full names for some programs - just online aliases. The
reason I trust these people is because of online reputation and
because if I want to I can read the code myself and audit it.
