Yes. Hardware RAID is unaware of filesystems and boot blocks, it blindly mirrors all blocks. A RAID resilver resilvers all blocks, even unused ones. > If the primary drive fails will the system still be able to boot? Yes. The system is provided one logical disk, and isn't aware of any redundancy in the RAID, nor is it affected by partial failures in the hw-RAID, except for perhaps a slower response.
